Dear Twin City Garden Club,
Happy Spring!! I hope you are enjoying your yards, the weather and the multitude of offerings TCGC has going on this Spring. Our Conservation and Horticulture Committees have organized an outing to Minglewood Preserve outdoor education center on April 19th for a tour and lunch. One week later, April 26th, is our monthly meeting and service project at the Boys and Girls Club. And May 7th we will have a Kentucky Derby Party fundraiser at Susan Elster’s house. Break out your Derby outfits for prizes and bring money to bet on the race!
I hope you were all able to attend our March business meeting to appreciate the scope of what TCGC does every year. We received a report from Jocelyn from the National Affairs and Legislation conference they attended in DC recently, a report from Nancy Osborn on the $4,400 we gave to charities, a report from Michelle on our upcoming project to document the Emily Allen Wildflower Preserve Garden for the Smithsonian and I announced the ad hoc committee’s decision to move forward toward becoming a 501c3 non profit corporation. And that’s only part of what we covered!
Thanks to each of you for your part in making TCGC so great. The combination of hard work and great attitudes makes what we do fun as well as meaningful.
Lucinda
