Hi all!  Here are some wonderful GCA Photography Opportunities.

1. OCTOBER 11-13, 2016 – “VIEWS FROM THE MOUNTAINTOP” – ALBEMARLE GARDEN CLUB SHOW
Everyone is encouraged to enter the Albemarle Show.  TCGC is required to submit a photography entry, so please look at your photos and see if you have a match for one of the categories.  Registration is now open. You NEVER know what the judges are looking for, so throw your hat in! Please email Elliott Turner at [email protected] if you have any interest in the following.  She is happy to guide you in any way.

GCA Flower Show at Zone 7 Meeting – hosted by Albemarle Garden Club

Division III – Photograpy Classes

Class 1 Subsistence    4 Entries
The farm-to-table movement is a visual wonder.   This is a novice class. Color photograph

Class 2 Refreshment    4 Entries
The eye follows past the orchard, vineyard or crop to majestic views beyond. Color photograph

Class 3 Adornment    4 Entries
Flowers are the jewels of any garden. Macro or close up of a flower using creative techniques.

Class 4 Shade and Perfume     4 Entries
Paths often lead us on an unfamiliar journey, but follow we must.   Color photograph

Class 5 Materials    4 Entries
Historic architecture stands the test of time especially in the details. Black and White photograph. Plant material is not required.

2. NATIONAL PARK IMAGES – Needed ASAP
The GCA office staff is looking for more National Parks images to be used in the slideshow at the GCA business meeting this May.  Please note Arches and Canyonlands are already well-represented. If you have any images to share, please forward large files to Elliott Turner ASAP at [email protected].

The most suitable images are:
-landscape orientation
-high resolution/ large file size (nothing less than 2-3 MB)
-landscape views
-no people
-plant/nature-oriented
