Local Area Farmer's Markets

The Winston-Salem/Triad area boasts many local farmer’s market and these are a wonderful place to visit. Many of these are “Producer’s Only Markets” (POMs). For a list of local area farmer’s markets, click here.

Looking for a local restaurant with locally sourced foods? Try the Diamondback Grill, Mozelle’s, Camino Bakery and 1703. With lots of local farms nearby, it’s easy to find menus with farm fresh foods.

Local Gardens & Outdoor Spots

The Winston-Salem/Triad area has many beautiful gardens, parks, safe-to-explore wooded areas and trails for walking and running. Reynolda Gardens is a wonderful place to explore with a large public garden, trails for walking through the woods, big open fields and areas that welcome dogs. Step back in time by visiting the gardens at Old Salem. There’s a wonderful weekend farmer’s market, shops, places to dine and more. Historic Bethabara Park is a great place to explore as well as Salem Lake for walking and biking.

Piedmont Land Conservancy

Piedmont Land Conservancy is a non-profit, grassroots land trust in nine North Carolina Counties: Alamance, Caswell, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin that helps to protect and conserve some of North Carolina’s most beautiful natural areas. The group works to permanently protect important lands to conserve our region’s rivers and streams, natural and scenic areas, wildlife habitat, and farmland that make the Piedmont a healthy and vibrant place to live, work and visit for present and future generations.
